This Privacy Policy explains how Guillen-Gonzalez Law Professional Corporation ("the firm," "we," "us") collects, uses, and shares information when you visit guillengonzalezlaw.com (the "site"), use our intake assistant or interactive tools, or contact us. It describes the choices you have, including how to opt out of analytics. This policy is about our website; it is general information and not legal advice.
1. Information we collect
We collect only what we need to respond to you and run the site:
- Information you give us — when you submit the contact form, use the chatbot, or email a tool summary, we receive details such as your name, email, phone, and a description of your matter. Please do not send sensitive details (such as Social Security or A-numbers) through the site.
- Interactive tool answers — the self-assessment tools run in your browser; your answers stay on your device unless you choose to email yourself a summary, in which case your answers and contact details are sent to the firm.
- Chatbot messages — messages you send to the intake assistant are transmitted to our AI provider to generate a reply (see "Service providers" below). Before your message is stored by the firm or recorded in our systems, a deterministic filter removes identifiers like SSNs and A-numbers. The chat is not confidential and creates no attorney-client relationship; please don't share sensitive identifiers.
- Usage & device information — like most sites, we collect standard analytics data (pages viewed, approximate location, device/browser type) through cookies, as described below.
2. How we use your information
- To respond to your inquiry, schedule consultations, and follow up.
- To operate, secure, and improve the site and our services.
- To comply with our legal and professional obligations.
We do not sell or share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we do not use it for purposes unrelated to those above.
3. Cookies & analytics
We use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand how visitors use the site. It sets cookies and collects usage data; GA4 does not log or retain IP addresses. We use this only to improve the site — not to advertise to you.
Your choice: you can opt out of analytics at any time using the button below (it stops Google Analytics on this site for your browser), or by using your browser's cookie controls or a tracker-blocking extension.
Consent & your choices. Analytics and (where enabled) advertising cookies load only after you choose Accept on our cookie banner — nothing non-essential runs by default. We use Google Consent Mode to enforce this. You can change your choice any time via the "Your Privacy Choices" link in the site footer.
Global Privacy Control (GPC). If your browser sends a GPC signal, we automatically treat it as an opt-out of any "sale" or "sharing" of your information for advertising — no click required — and advertising tags do not load for your browser.
4. Service providers
We use a small number of trusted providers that process data on our behalf:
- Amazon Web Services (AWS) — website hosting and sending the firm your contact/intake emails.
- Anthropic — powers the intake chatbot (your message is sent to its API to generate a reply; the API key is never exposed to your browser).
- Google Analytics — site usage analytics (see above).
- Calendly — appointment scheduling when you book a consultation.
- Microsoft Clarity and PostHog — privacy-first behavior analytics (session replay and heatmaps) that load only if you accept analytics. Form fields and text you type are masked and never recorded.
- Meta Platforms — if you accept advertising cookies (and only when no Global Privacy Control signal is present), we use the Meta Pixel and Conversions API to measure our ads. If you message us on WhatsApp from an ad or our site, that conversation is handled by WhatsApp (Meta).
- Sentry — error and reliability monitoring so we can fix problems quickly. It receives technical error data with personal identifiers scrubbed; it helps keep the site working and secure.
- Google Fonts — the site's typefaces load from Google's servers, which means your IP address is visible to Google when a page loads its fonts. No cookies are set for this.
We share information with these providers only as needed to run the site and (with your consent) to measure our advertising, or where required by law. We do not sell your information for money. A full list — data category, purpose, region, retention, and the governing data-processing agreement — is kept in our processor register.
5. Your privacy rights
California (CCPA/CPRA): California residents may request to know, delete, or correct the personal information we hold, and to opt out of any "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. We do not sell your information for money; we only "share" it for cross-context advertising if you opt in, and we honor the Global Privacy Control signal and the footer "Your Privacy Choices" control as your opt-out. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
EU/UK (GDPR), where applicable: you may have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection. To exercise any right, email gabriel@guillengonzalezlaw.com and we will respond as required by law. We may need to verify your identity first.
6. Data retention & security
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above or as our professional and legal obligations require, then delete or de-identify it. We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect information, though no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
7. Children's privacy
The site is intended for adults seeking legal services and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here and change the effective date above.
